Memberships at the MAPAS Centre

Performances
Most groups and ensembles at MAPAS will get the opportunity to perform at least twice a year (MAPAS Christmas and Summer showcases). Some groups may be invited to perform at other events/venues, while other groups (such as the musical theatre ensembles) will occasionally be part of other, larger scale MAPAS productions.
MAPAS Centre members perform regularly in Showcase concerts in community venues as well as at other prestigious venues such as the Lowry, Salford University (New Adelphi Theatre) and the Bridgewater Hall.
Senior MAPAS Centre members have the chance to perform abroad as part of concert tours whilst Junior MAPAS Centre members are invited to residential weekends to work on exciting performance projects.
You can watch footage from some of our previous concert performances on our YouTube channel (linked below).
Please note, participation in performances is not a compulsory element of MAPAS Membership. Performances should be fun and boost confidence. If a member wishes to participate in groups/rehearsals but not shows & performances, they are welcome to do so.
More About the MAPAS Centre
One membership – endless creative opportunities.
With one MAPAS membership, you can join as many groups and ensembles as you like.*
The MAPAS Centre is open to ALL. You don’t need to be at a school that operates MAPAS Lessons, or even a Salford-based school at all.
As well as our groups and ensembles for school-age people, we also offer pre-school music tuition, in the form of our Infant Orchestras and Mini Musical Theatre group, and groups for adults including the MAPAS Community Choir and Salford Steel. We also offer Music and Performing Arts opportunities to the SEND community, through our MAPAS Movers, and MAPAS Melody Makers groups, as well as our work within local SEND Schools.
Over the past 60 years, MAPAS has opened up Music and Performing arts opportunities to people from all walks of life, allowing them to achieve things they may not otherwise have thought possible. From completing official exams and qualifications, to tours abroad and even performing at some of the regions most iconic venues, such as Manchester Cathedral and The Lowry Theatre!
Where could the arts take you?
