Where stories come alive
Our Storynook spaces are the perfect alternative to traditional storytelling, offering families an escape from the everyday and a chance to explore and enjoy stories through active play. The Storynook is a gateway to imagination where children and families can enter and engage with stories like never before.
There are no age limits at our Storynook, so anyone who would enjoy the experience can book onto a self-led session.

Step into our Storygarden at Irlam Library – where stories and adventure grow together!
This special outdoor space brings stories and nature to life, encouraging children to move, explore and enjoy active play outside while building confidence and nurturing imagination.
Little explorers can go bug hunting, follow a treasure trail, or curl up with a story in our cosy Book Nook.
And don’t worry about the weather – we’ve got wellies and coats ready so the fun can continue whatever the forecast!
Visit during library opening hours, it’s free and no booking is needed. Just drop in and explore!
