About the Programme
This free programme has been funded by The LTA Foundation and is being delivered by SCL’s Active Communities team. We are hosting weekly tennis sessions at 3 locations across the city and these are available to children and young people from across Salford. Our aim is to make tennis more accessible in our city.
Salford faces a severe shortage of accessible tennis opportunities, for many reasons such as cost, lack of facilities, and limited structured coaching pathways. This programme aims to break those barriers and will empower young people to develop new skills, improve health, and challenge traditional perceptions of tennis as an exclusive sport.
The sessions currently run in Eccles, Walkden (Parr Fold Park) and Ordsall.
We also host FREE Tennis holiday clubs in the school holidays.

Tennis Holiday Camps
Give your child a chance to try something new, build confidence and have a great time in their school holidays. Learn all about the basics of tennis in a relaxed, friendly setting. We’ll show them the fundamentals of the sport and how to enjoy the game at their own pace.
Each day includes simple drills and activities, fun challenges as well as team games that help children stay active while making new friends. At the end of the camp, we’ll hold a small tournament where children can take part and have the chance to win medals and trophies to celebrate their progress.
